Similar to Yahoo messenger and Google Talk, Microsoft has an instant messaging client called Windows Live Messenger. There are desktop, mobile version and online versions of Windows Live Messenger. Users with Windows Live or Hotmail ID can sign in to the messenger and chat with their online friends on these applications. Microsoft started releasing 2010 editions of their software products. So far we have seen the beta release of Office 2010 products. The upcoming releases includes Windows Live messenger 2010 and Windows Live Writer 2010.

Neowin has posted the screenshots of upcoming Windows Live Messenger 2010. Seems that Microsoft also realized the importance of social media in these days. Windows Live messenger 2010 follows a tabbed design.
On the right there’s the list of online friends on Windows Live and Yahoo messenger services. On the left pain pain we can see the updates from Facebook and Twitter pages of Friends. A similar feature is also available in latest Yahoo messenger 10. In Yahoo messenger the Y! updates tab shows social media updates from friends on Windows Live messenger and Yahoo messenger services. There is an update feature at the top portion of Windows Live messenger 2010 that can be used to update the status of the users.
Microsoft usually provides only an online bundled installer of Windows live messenger along with Windows Live essential pack. So you can’t backup the installer for future use. Like our old post on Yahoo Messenger 10 full installer, here we have full standalone installer for Windows Live messenger 2009.
