Research In Motion finally announced the most awaited tablet computer and iPad competitor BlackBerry Playbook. Earlier known as the BlackPad, Blackberry playbook was expected to include a tablet version of the newly announced BlackBerry OS 6.0. Instead of that, RIM moved to a new UNIX based OS platform called QNX, which was further optimized to work on tablet computers and mobile devices. The advantage of QNX is that it is a real-time operating system that provides true multi-tasking. Playbook is also the first web tablet to get a dual core mobile CPU. In its 6th generation, the Apple iPod nano gets a total redesign with slimmer hardware. The new iPod nano 6G comes with a multi-touch display and removes the touch sensitive click wheel. It doesn’t have a the video camera introduced with the iPod nano 5th generation. The slim iPod nano 6th generation has square shaped design with iOS 4.0 like interface. We can call the new iPod nano Multi-Touch as a smaller version of the iPod Touch 4th generation.

One of the major features of iOS 4.0 is that it will bring multi-tasking to all supported devices. Apple iOS 4 multi-tasking is in such a way that it doesn’t affect the battery life and performance of the device. They have selected around seven important services and provided APIs that developers can use to implement multi-tasking in their apps. Currently there is only a selected number of iOS apps that support multi-tasking.
