New BSNL combo broadband tariff
BSNL , the largest broadband provider in India announced new combo broadband tariff plans for its urban and rural customers . They also announced tariff rates of next generation 16 mbps and 24 broadband connection that could revolutionize the current internet scenario in India . The special about new combo plans is that we have two new unlimited plans at 2 mbps and 1 mbps speeds.
BSNL currently offers the lowest 2 mbps tariff plan in India that cost only 125 INR for 150 MB bandwidth usage . Latest high speed broadband connections will also be given at lowest possible charges .
The 16 mbps and 24 mbps connections are great for online streaming , downloading and for accessing new generation technologies like IPTV ,HDTV etc. But the ultra speed is currently limited to few India cities .Also the cost factor is pretty much higher in this case .
BSNL broadband plans upto 2 mbps are now available via all exchanges . Home unlimited users can upgrade to latest 1 mbps and 2 mbps unlimited combo plans if they are ready to shell out more .

There are Existing BSNL Home Unlimited broadband tariff plans of 750 INR and 1350 INR that provides 256 kbps and 512 kbps speed . But as you can see above , the new BSNL combo plans offer 1 mbps and 2 mbps unlimited BSNL broadband .
BSNL combo tariff plan includes broadband and Land Line charges . Plans seems to be little over priced , but provides more speed and free additional local calls . More information on new BSNL broadband plans are available on toll free no : 1500 .
Updated : New BSNL unlimited broadband tariff plans may include a Fair Usage Policy . That’s the unlimited 1 mbps and 2 mbps speeds would be available only upto 25 GB and 50 GB of bandwidth usage, and thereafter a downgrade in speed to 256 or 512 kbps unlimited .

I currently have the UL 750+ plan with 256 kbps. I use around 50-80 GB bandwidth each month. All i wont to know is weather my current plan will be altered or I can continue to use my plan the way i do. I’ll be screwed if they put an upper cap on downloads. Will they ??

Reliance ,Tata and all others say its unlimited broadband and keeps a limit in the background . Refer to any unlimited broadband offer form Reliance , Tata and Airtel . They will be a keep a * near unlimited and finally says “applicable fair usage policy ” . FUP actually limit the download bandwidth . So BSNL really rocks when it comes to unlimited broadband in India .

Your current plan will not be altered as you think. BSNL has introduced new plans in addition to the old plans… If u want to change to the new plans, you will have to give a written request at your BSNL commercial office. As Kiran told there will not be any hidden charges or limitation.
Hello ,My BSNL commercial office has only the brochure of old plans . The people at the office are also not sure about these new broadband plans . How much time it will take to roll these tariff plans in other parts of the country ? .

Hey i agree with Mr.Asad they should upgrade the 750 plan to 512kbps,its not so worth spending around 750 per month for that amount of low speed,n i have a question to asad,that so how could u make upto 50 to 80db of dwnldng, what abt ur comp,do we have to face any consequences.
The additional 749 paid in the 1499 plan fetches (only) 25 GB which would exhaust in no time under a power user. Then back to 256kbps!!
There are two problem one could face while running the PC continuously. high electricity usage and over heating.I put my PC in power saver mode , so low consumption. It would over heat in an hour if it had to, and won’t over heat in as long as 15 days of continuous usage (that’s my record). I believe UL plans are meant to use to its fullest and that’s exactly what I always try to achieve.
Anybody noticed that BSNL launched prepaid broadband plans. Now you can carry your broadband connection to anywhere in the country. 2 prepaid connections an be taken from existing BSNL broadband. I like this plan and in my hostel I have only one phone connection .
