New BSNL combo broadband tariff
BSNL , the largest broadband provider in India announced new combo broadband tariff plans for its urban and rural customers . They also announced tariff rates of next generation 16 mbps and 24 broadband connection that could revolutionize the current internet scenario in India . The special about new combo plans is that we have two new unlimited plans at 2 mbps and 1 mbps speeds.
BSNL currently offers the lowest 2 mbps tariff plan in India that cost only 125 INR for 150 MB bandwidth usage . Latest high speed broadband connections will also be given at lowest possible charges .
The 16 mbps and 24 mbps connections are great for online streaming , downloading and for accessing new generation technologies like IPTV ,HDTV etc. But the ultra speed is currently limited to few India cities .Also the cost factor is pretty much higher in this case .
BSNL broadband plans upto 2 mbps are now available via all exchanges . Home unlimited users can upgrade to latest 1 mbps and 2 mbps unlimited combo plans if they are ready to shell out more .

There are Existing BSNL Home Unlimited broadband tariff plans of 750 INR and 1350 INR that provides 256 kbps and 512 kbps speed . But as you can see above , the new BSNL combo plans offer 1 mbps and 2 mbps unlimited BSNL broadband .
BSNL combo tariff plan includes broadband and Land Line charges . Plans seems to be little over priced , but provides more speed and free additional local calls . More information on new BSNL broadband plans are available on toll free no : 1500 .
Updated : New BSNL unlimited broadband tariff plans may include a Fair Usage Policy . That’s the unlimited 1 mbps and 2 mbps speeds would be available only upto 25 GB and 50 GB of bandwidth usage, and thereafter a downgrade in speed to 256 or 512 kbps unlimited .

I currently have the UL 750+ plan with 256 kbps. I use around 50-80 GB bandwidth each month. All i wont to know is weather my current plan will be altered or I can continue to use my plan the way i do. I’ll be screwed if they put an upper cap on downloads. Will they ??

Reliance ,Tata and all others say its unlimited broadband and keeps a limit in the background . Refer to any unlimited broadband offer form Reliance , Tata and Airtel . They will be a keep a * near unlimited and finally says “applicable fair usage policy ” . FUP actually limit the download bandwidth . So BSNL really rocks when it comes to unlimited broadband in India .

Your current plan will not be altered as you think. BSNL has introduced new plans in addition to the old plans… If u want to change to the new plans, you will have to give a written request at your BSNL commercial office. As Kiran told there will not be any hidden charges or limitation.
Hello ,My BSNL commercial office has only the brochure of old plans . The people at the office are also not sure about these new broadband plans . How much time it will take to roll these tariff plans in other parts of the country ? .

Hey i agree with Mr.Asad they should upgrade the 750 plan to 512kbps,its not so worth spending around 750 per month for that amount of low speed,n i have a question to asad,that so how could u make upto 50 to 80db of dwnldng, what abt ur comp,do we have to face any consequences.
The additional 749 paid in the 1499 plan fetches (only) 25 GB which would exhaust in no time under a power user. Then back to 256kbps!!
There are two problem one could face while running the PC continuously. high electricity usage and over heating.I put my PC in power saver mode , so low consumption. It would over heat in an hour if it had to, and won’t over heat in as long as 15 days of continuous usage (that’s my record). I believe UL plans are meant to use to its fullest and that’s exactly what I always try to achieve.
Anybody noticed that BSNL launched prepaid broadband plans. Now you can carry your broadband connection to anywhere in the country. 2 prepaid connections an be taken from existing BSNL broadband. I like this plan and in my hostel I have only one phone connection .

actually there is no chance to download such 50 to 80 GBS over UL 750+ ,,,, i also used the same plan and downloaded lot of things now i had changed my plan to 1499 where i got speed of 145-200 Kbs and it is very useful and fast .. now the cost of BSNL broadband is also cheaper and it becames enough to download 25 gb before 30 days but the speed wont be changed it were change after usage of 45 GB …. so there is no confusion of picking this plan….. juzzz go 4 it…
is modem given free for 1499 plan.,, i mean without rent for modem… is it was givern free…
just verify your bill over right side top the broadband plan that you are using is printed for every bill check it out…

The users expecting top speed from BSNL need to be told the background. BSNL broad band is deliverd over the existing landline
connection. The land line cables are in a terribly messy state all over India. The telephone cables are damaged by all and sundry while
digging along roads. Though BSNL may offer high speed, most people get low dial up speed or face continuous disconnection due to faulty
telephone line. BSNL should first get their last mile connectivity in place before coming up with such grand schemes.

All BSNL unlimited home plans for broadband are changed to single-user.
Means if any one want to share the connection they will not be able to do that right after this month.
hey guys!! paki here.. isnt that expensive?? i mean , look at 1mbps its 1500 INDIAN rupees 1PKR = 1.5 INR
in pk 1mbps is 1200 PKR per mnth unlimited and 4mb unlimited is 4999 PKR per month , all with free modem and installation.
or is that wimax or cdma tarrif up there? if so, then its exp in pk (not taking exch rate into account) wimax unlimited 1mbps would cost u 1670 PKR per month 2570 PKR per month for 2mbps , 5500 PKR mer month for 4mbps. Home customers dont hve abov 8mb available to them. Busineses can get upto 32mbps to 64mbps+
i think the problem with india’s broadband is the limitedness of ur fixed tel lines. If they are improved and expanded , companies’ sales will increase (thus high sales , leading to lower prices) and the efficiency of the broadband network will increase aswell , also reducing costs (in the long run) guess congress should work on it …………….

Well I am not suggesting anything here to anybody. It’s just a thought. Considering the unlimited plans, BSNL started wireless broadband thingy called EVDO data card 2 years back. It is quite good and I heard a lot of good reviews and fair amount of bad reviews as well. Here is the thing, card costs you around 2500/- Rs and monthly charges is around 650/- Rs for unlimited downloads. Stating that the good thing about this card is you will get speed upto 2.4 MB/s*. Advantage of this card is they don’t have any terms and conditions like fair usage policy.
*depends on the traffic to the near by tower and your location.

AirTel is offering 4Mbps Unlimited download but they have a FARE USAGE POLICY which kicks in after 25GB of download….. I presently have a BSNL 256Kbps Unlimited Download, Even with such Low speed i download 55GB of data every month on Avg…. so this fair usage policy makes AirTel a No..No… Looking at the big picture i Think the New BSNL Plan (Combo-1499 or Combo-2999) are presently the best Plans avail in market…. With these new BSNL plans you will be able to download more in a month then with a AirTel 4Mbps plans, as once u touch the 25GB mark with the AirTel ur speed will come down to just 256Kbps, which is hardly going to take any time as it gives 4Mbps, But with BSNL you will download with the same speed for the WHOLE MONTH!!!!……. Its just like the RABBIT and TORTOISE story…. in the beginning rabbit(AirTel) is fast but at the end Tortoise(BSNL) Wins the RACE(speed race)….
