Maruti is all set to launch the revamped version of one of the most popular small cars India, the Maruti Alto K series (K10) on August 4 2010. As the name indicates, Maruti Alto K10 comes with variant of the revolutionary K-series engine used in other Maruti Suzuki models. Therefore, the new Maruti Alto K series 2010 will have improved mileage engine performance and makes a lesser carbon footprint. The KB10 engine used in the Maruti Alto 2010 is almost the same as the one used in Maruti Estilo. It’s a 999 cc MPFI engine, that is quite big when compared with 800 CC engine in old Maruti Alto. The K series engine shoots the power of the new Alto 2010 to around 67.07 HP from 46.3 HP of the old model. It also out put a completely higher max torque of 90Nm at 3500 RPM. Coming to the gear transmission, Maruti Alto K series 2010 utilizes a five speed manual transmission with smooth cable shift operation. The KB 10 engine will also provide a slight improvement in the mileage of the car (approximately .6 kmpl).
Maruti Alto KB10 interior and exterior changes:
The new Alto has several changes in interior and exterior design and components. It is 200mm more in overall length when compared with the old model. There will be a 13 inch alloy wheel, new headlamp, body colored bumper, newly designed grille, wheel covers and fog lamps. Power steering will be a standard feature of the car. Internal adjustable OVRM, new dashboard, two-tone interiors, three spoke steering, integrated headrests, central locking, power windows are among other features. The new Alto 2010 will have two variants LXI and VXI and six color options to choose from.
Maruti Alto K-series price:
Existing models of Maruti Alto are priced in the range 230000-280000 (exshowroom) in several states across the country. The new Maruti Alto K-series 2010 is expected to cost an additional 35000 INR more than the existing model. Therefore, after adding registration and insurance charges, the possible on road price of Maruti Alto KB 10 comes to around 335000 INR for the top model.

Wow! simply amazing. Its a must buy for young generation as it does have the “GenX” factor. It has power, mileage, good looks, space and all these features at a price lower than that of a base model of Estilo.
Alto will always be a preferred car. It is a common man Car and always better than Estilo in terms of looks.
Alto has been the wonder car of Maruti. The 1.1 version which was stopped was the biggest blunder. However with the new Version being introduced Alto will the best choice Vs Spark, i10, Santro, due to its fuel efficiency, looks and economics as well as the Largest Assured Service Network of Maruti.
