As you all might know, Apple released iOS 4.0 for iPhone 4, 3GS and iPod devices. One of the major features of  iOS 4.0 is that it will bring multi-tasking to all supported devices. Apple iOS 4 multi-tasking is in such a way that it doesn’t affect the battery life and performance of the device. They have selected around seven important services and provided APIs that developers can use to implement multi-tasking in their apps. Currently there is only a selected number of iOS apps that support multi-tasking.

Apple announced the change in name of Apple iPhone OS for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad to iOS at WWDC in San Fransisco. The iOS 4.0 that was in test from the last weeks reached the final gold master release and now available for download at Apple website. The final build of iOS 4.0 will reach all iPhone, iPod touch users by 22 June. Coming to the features, iOS 4.0 adds  most awaited multi-tasking feature on all supported devices. Unlike other mobile operating systems, the iOS device allows only certain necessary services to multi-task. Therefore all iOS 4.0 devices get better battery life and improvement in speed.

Apple declared the development of iPhone firmware update 4.0,  forthcoming version of the mobile operating system for iPhone 3G S, iPod touch 3rd generation and iPad.  Features of iPhone firmware 4.0 include multi-tasking support, iBook, folders for the apps, game center, better digital zoom and around 100 new improvements.  They haven’t announced anything about the new iPhone 4G model that would also get iPhone firmware update 4.0. The new firmware comes with support for around 1500 APIs,  which developers can use to program applications. The final version of iPhone firmware updates 4 will be available by the end of this June. Developers can now download firmware 4 at the official Apple developer website.

Finally the day has arrived.  Google today announced their first in-house developed mobile device named the Nexus One.   The Google Nexus One phone was much talked gadget in the web for the last few days. Nexus One  is designed and priced as a true Apple iPhone competitor.  The device is based on Google Android OS 2.0. Google has developed customizations with OS and HTC made the device hardware. Specification The Nexus One is far better than iPhone 3G S. The device comes with 3.7 inch AMOLED touch scree display, accelerometer, 4GB internal memory, 1GHZ processor and a 5 MP camera.  Google phone Nexus one is now available for purchase via Google.com/phone  for customers in United States of America.

Nokia today released much awaited Eseries device Nokia E72. We expected the release of Nokia E72 on Q3 of 2009. But it look almost six months, after its official announcement on July of this year. Nokia Eseries devices are specially built for business and personal messaging. Their large-sized design with QWERTY keypads and office and texting oriented applications well suites professionals. Nokia E72 is the first Eseries mobile device to get a five mega pixel camera. This device operates on the Symbian S60 V3 platform. This OS is comparatively older on comparison with the latest Smartphones in the market. But the addition new facilities would help the device to meet the success of E71 , which is one of the most sold Eseries device.
